Destiny Perry

Experience:  My grandmother introduced me to Summit Gymnastics at age 4, and I've been in the gym ever since—36 years now. I was an optional gymnast and competed for my high school team, later adding competitive cheerleading by sophomore year. I graduated as a 2-time regional all-around champion and was part of Washington's first nationally ranked high school gymnastics team. At the same time, I won 4 national cheerleading titles. Competing on 2 gymnastics and 2 cheerleading teams for 4 years was tough but rewarding. I began teaching at 12, due to family circumstances, and eventually started my own company, traveling and teaching gymnastics, dance, choreography, and tumbling. I've taught on 4 continents and helped establish competitive tumbling in 8 countries outside the U.S. After 15 years, I chose to focus on raising my children while continuing to teach. I’ve coached 17 national champions and 27 athletes who earned full-ride scholarships. My greatest achievement is giving love and respect to all I teach. Forever in love with gymnastics and always grateful.

Advice for Students: No one said it would be easy, But it will be worth it. Live for today and give the best of yourself to those around you. You will always find joy and peace in serving others. Be humble and grateful for your talents so much that you share them with the world.
